Learnt one thing from my experiments, avoid including things that move - like waves, they cause havoc when trying to stitch nine frames together. Thank heavens for the clone tool. Really helps hide our screw ups for those of you who like me make many. Had lots of fun playing around doing panoramas last weekend and I'll be posting a few of the end results. If you'd care to comment or crit (either good or bad) it'll be most welcome.stu'zphotographyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12269097267548400156noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2786064395950641583.post-54520366390171498932009-07-23T11:39:00.005+02:002009-07-24T12:39:32.733+02:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_wP0Uzrf0UUo/SmgwkNjEJ6I/AAAAAAAAACM/QrtcndOk06s/s1600-h/Whitebreasted+Cormorant+SUB.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_wP0Uzrf0UUo/SmgwkNjEJ6I/AAAAAAAAACM/QrtcndOk06s/s320/Whitebreasted+Cormorant+SUB.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361588755054733218" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wP0Uzrf0UUo/Smgwj9y3g6I/AAAAAAAAACE/G_Ch7RQ_c9c/s1600-h/Blackwinged+Stilt.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 208px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wP0Uzrf0UUo/Smgwj9y3g6I/AAAAAAAAACE/G_Ch7RQ_c9c/s320/Blackwinged+Stilt.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361588750826046370" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br />Here are few more pics from a while ago. Really need to get out and do some more. The Blackwinged Stilt is a great subject to shoot. Fairly easy to get reasonably close to so you don't have to crop too much. The Herons are far more skittish but because of their size you can shoot from further away. Was quite pleased to get the shot of the Whitebreasted Cormorant just after it had caught a frog for dinner.stu'zphotographyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12269097267548400156noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2786064395950641583.post-47684200242943382932009-07-22T21:54:00.005+02:002009-07-24T13:24:16.399+02:00Egret and another sugarbird<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wP0Uzrf0UUo/SmdvNMZPc5I/AAAAAAAAAB0/q-ZiBXnJKeM/s1600-h/Sugarbird+-+Nature+-+Stuart+Hepburn+-+Silver.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 221px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wP0Uzrf0UUo/SmdvNMZPc5I/AAAAAAAAAB0/q-ZiBXnJKeM/s320/Sugarbird+-+Nature+-+Stuart+Hepburn+-+Silver.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361376153863943058" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wP0Uzrf0UUo/SmdvMzDBtYI/AAAAAAAAABs/1UMdLaSXvOo/s1600-h/Egret+take+off+-+Nature+-+Stuart+Hepburn+-+Gold.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 242px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wP0Uzrf0UUo/SmdvMzDBtYI/AAAAAAAAABs/1UMdLaSXvOo/s320/Egret+take+off+-+Nature+-+Stuart+Hepburn+-+Gold.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361376147059881346" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://submit.shutterstock.com/?ref=99240"><br /></a><br /><br />Been neglecting my blog for a while so time to make amends and post something new. Love photographing Egrets. Such beautiful, graceful birds but can be tricky to get the exposure right. Think I've succeeded with this one though. Thanks for looking and will try make a point of posting more regularly from now on.stu'zphotographyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12269097267548400156noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2786064395950641583.post-43013868765395732602009-04-26T15:30:00.000+02:002009-04-26T16:11:42.974+02:00Intro to avian photagraphy<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wP0Uzrf0UUo/SfRkh50szwI/AAAAAAAAAAc/ZtdAVtZ6NtA/s1600-h/Nature-Stuart+Hepburn-Incoming+-+Gold+Nom+for+pic+of+the+month%26+Interclub.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wP0Uzrf0UUo/SfRkh50szwI/AAAAAAAAAAc/ZtdAVtZ6NtA/s320/Nature-Stuart+Hepburn-Incoming+-+Gold+Nom+for+pic+of+the+month%26+Interclub.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5328994792706461442" border="0" /></a>Since getting into photography about three years ago my main interest has been with birds in flight. Living in Cape Town we have plenty of opportunity to see a wide variety of water birds, both inland and ocean. The most common include Ibis', Cormorants, Herons, Darters, Egyptian Geese to name just a few.<br />My favorite birding spots for these include the Waterworks of Zeekoevlei and Intaka Island.<br /><br />Other common birds in our area include Cape White Eyes, Sugardbirds, Sunbirds, and several others.<br /><br />As my portfolio increases I'll be adding some of my favorite shots for you to view and hopefully comment on.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_wP0Uzrf0UUo/SfRkhuVHX2I/AAAAAAAAAAU/RRPF2xo0tT8/s1600-h/Nature-Stuart+Hepburn-Cape+Sugarbird.+Gold+Nom+for+Pic+of+the+Month+and+Interclub.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 296px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_wP0Uzrf0UUo/SfRkhuVHX2I/AAAAAAAAAAU/RRPF2xo0tT8/s320/Nature-Stuart+Hepburn-Cape+Sugarbird.+Gold+Nom+for+Pic+of+the+Month+and+Interclub.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5328994789621194594" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wP0Uzrf0UUo/SfRkhqfE7VI/AAAAAAAAAAM/y9ZSOo3-64Q/s1600-h/Incoming+Ibis+-+Nature+-+Stuart+Hepburn.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 233px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wP0Uzrf0UUo/SfRkhqfE7VI/AAAAAAAAAAM/y9ZSOo3-64Q/s320/Incoming+Ibis+-+Nature+-+Stuart+Hepburn.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5328994788589235538" border="0" /></a>stu'zphotographyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12269097267548400156noreply@blogger.com6
